** New Rules for Teen Drivers ** EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 22, 2010, CHAPTER 403 OF THE LAWS OF 2009 MAKES THE
FOLLOWING CHANGES TO THE NYS GRADUATED DRIVER LICENSING LAW: - For licenses and permits issued on or after February 22, 2010, the law reduces from two to one the number of allowable
non-family passengers under the age of 21 riding in a motor vehicle operated by a junior license holder when not accompanied
by a parent, guardian, or driving instructor.

- No
new limited use junior licenses will be issued, and a junior permit must be held for at least six months before a junior license
can be issued.

- The number of required supervised driving hours before
a road test can be scheduled is increased from 20 hours to 50 hours, including 15 hours
after sunset.
